I recently discovered a lovely crochet stitch, the blanket stitch! It creates a dense structure, making it perfect for not only blankets, but also pillows, wash – and dishcloths. Also, I can imagine that hats, scarfs and cowls would look gorgeous using this stitch pattern.

I love it when I can just relax in the evening with a mindless project. You just have to repeat one row, so once you have it memoized, you can watch TV and crochet.

My blanket project

Currently I am working on a baby blanket. This is made with the blanket stitch as well. I will tell you more about this project when it’s done. So far I am loving it! It’s fun how different the look is depending on working with one color or multiple. The plan is to make a nice appliqué when the blanket is done. I will post it here on the blog when it’s ready.
