Hi yarn friends! Today I want to share my latest pattern with you. This is a crochet long, and we are making a cute crochet amigurumi bunny! We start with the head, so grab your hooks and let´s go!

The yarn

Firstly, here is the info about the yarn. One of the perks of being a crochet pattern maker is that yarn companies sometimes send me yarn to try. This time I got to try the Honey Bunny yarn from Hobbii, and I HAD to make a bunny with it! Also, I got some safety eyes and stuffing!

You can also use a different yarn. It doesn't really matter; find a yarn that you like and a matching hook, and you are good to go.

Crochet Bunny CAL - Part 1

This is part one of the Bunny Crochet Along series.

Print

Materials

• ch – chain
• st – stitch
• rnd – round
• R – round
• sl st – slip stitch
• sc – single crochet
• sc inc – single crochet increase (2 sc in one stitch)
• sc dec – single crochet decrease
• hdc – half double crochet
• dc – double crochet
• yo – yarn over
• mr – magic ring

Tools

• Honey Bunny yarn in beige – 2 skeins
• Honey Bunny yarn in blue – 1 skein
• Small amount of pink yarn for the nose
• Small amount of white yarn for the eyes
• 5 mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• 18 mm safety eyes (or larger, if preferred)

Instructions

Work in continuous rounds.
Use a stitch marker and move it up as you go.

Head
Color: Beige

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6 sc)
Rnd 2: sc inc × 6 (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, sc inc) × 6 (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, sc inc) × 6 (24 sc)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, sc inc) × 6 (30 sc)
Rnd 6: (4 sc, sc inc) × 6 (36 sc)
Rnd 7: (5 sc, sc inc) × 6 (42 sc)
Rnd 8–10: 1 sc in each st
Rnd 11: (6 sc, sc inc) × 6 (48 sc)
Rnd 12–15: 1 sc in each st
Rnd 16: sc dec in every st (24 sc)

Add stuffing.

Place the safety eyes between Rnds 8–10 with 7 stitches between them.
Add more stuffing if needed.

Rnd 17: sc dec in every st (12 sc)

Sl st into the first st and fasten off.
Leave the opening unclosed.

Sew on a mouth and nose using pink yarn.
Add small details in white yarn along the edges of the eyes.

Ears
Make 2 – same color as the body

The ears are worked around a long foundation chain, not in rows.

Ch 34. Make 1 sc in each stitch along the chain. Turn the work and continue on the opposite side of the chain, making 1 sc in the next 24 stitches, 1 hdc in the next 9 stitches, then work 3 dc in the next chain space between the rows. Continue with 1 hdc in the next 9 stitches and finish with 1 sc in the next 24 stitches. Fasten off.

Bow
Color: Blue

Ch 16.
Row 1: 1 sc in each st (15 sc)
Row 2–7: 1 sc in each st

Sc evenly around the bow.
Wrap yarn tightly around the center to shape the bow.
Sew the bow onto the head.
