Amigurumi ghost

Today we are going to share this super easy and quick amigurumi ghost pattern. This ghost has minimal sewing, and the body and the head are made in one piece.

Materials

You only need some white yarn, safety eyes, a hook, some filling materials, and 30 minutes or so to finish this ghost. The eyes can also be embroiled on if you don’t have safety eyes.

Abbreviations – US terms

Ch – chain

R – round

St – stitch 

Sc – single crochet 

Sc dec - single crochet decrease
Sc inc – single crochet increase
Mr – magic ring
Sl st – slipstitch
Hdc – half double crochet

About the pattern

The body and head are made in one part. The ghost is made in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker and move it up as you go. The ghost is crocheted bottom up. Stuff as you go. Use a 3 mm crochet hook or a hook recommended for the yarn you use.

Materials

  • Crochet hook 3.0 mm
  • Yarn: Worsted weight.
  • Color: white
  • A small amount of thinner, black yarn for the nose and mouth for the facial features.
  • Tapestry needle
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Stitch marker
  • Stuffing materials

R1: 6sc in a mr (6 sc)
R2- 3: 6 sc
R4: (Sc inc) x 6 (12 sc)
R5: (1sc, sc inc) x 6 (18 sc)
R6: 18 sc
R7: sc dec x 3, 6sc, sc inc x 3, 3sc (18 sc)
R8-9: 18sc (18sc)
R10: sc inc x 3, 6sc, sc dec x 3, 3sc (18 sc)
R11-12) 18 sc
R13: (1sc, sc dec) x 6 (12 sc)
R14: (1sc, sc dec) x 4 (8 sc)
Add stuffing.
R15: sc inc x 8 (16 sc)
R16: (1sc, sc inc) x 8 (24 sc)
R17: (2sc, sc inc) x 8 (32 sc)
R18-24: 32 sc
Attach safety eyes between rounds 22 -23, 3-4 sc stitches apart.
R25: (2sc, sc dec) x 8 (24 sc)
R26: (1sc, sc dec) x 8 (16 sc)
Add stuffing.
R27: sc dec x 8 (8 sc)
Sl st into the first sc. Fasten off. Sew the hole closed.


Arms

In white

R1: 7sc in a mr (7 sc)
R2-6: 7 sc
Pinch the hole flat and close it with single crochet. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

Sew on the arms below the neck. Make little hairs. Cut some strands of yarn and attach it on the top of the head. Use the tapestry needle to split the yarn to make it look like hair. Weave in all ends. Embroider facial features, like eyebrows and a mouth.
