Jenny the Jellyfish
About the pattern
The jellyfish is made in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker and move it up as you finish the rounds. You can adjust the size by choosing a thicker yarn, like worsted weight yarn and a hook that matches.
I made two jellyfishes, one with sports weight yarn and one with worsted weight yarn. I used a 3 mm size crochet hook for the small one and 3.5 for the big one.
Finished size of the small jellyfish: 5 cm (without tentacles)
Finished size of the big jellyfish: 7 cm
(without tentacles)
Difficulty level: Advanced beginners

Instructions
Body
Work in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker and move it up as you finish the rounds.
Using a 3,5 crochet hook
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr = 6 sc
Rnd 2: sc inc x 6 = 12 sc
Rnd 3: (1 sc, sc inc) x 6 = 18 sc
Rnd 4: (2 sc, sc inc) x 6 = 24 sc
Rnd 5: (3 sc, sc inc) x 6 = 30 sc
Rnd 6- 10: 1 sc in each st = 30 sc
Rnd 11: In BLO: (3 sc, sc2tog) x 6 = 24
Add safety eyes on rows 9-10, 5 sc st space apart. Sew on a little mouth in the middle.
Rnd 12: Work through both loops as normal
(2 sc, sc2tog) x 6 = 18
Add filling materials
Rnd 13: (1 sc, sc2tog) x 6 = 12
Rnd 14: sc2tog x 6 = 6 sc
Fasten off, sew the hole closed.
Skirt
Attach some yarn at the back of the jellyfish, on a remaining loop from round 11.
Ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, 3 dc in each st = 90 dc
Sl st in the first st in the top of ch 3 and fasten off.
Tentacles
Option 1:
Simple tentacles
Chain 26 fasten off.
Make 5-6 chains in total. If you want you can make your chains longer or shorter.
Sew the tentacles on various places on the bottom.
Option 2: Spiral tentacles
Make 3
Ch 31, 2 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. 3 sc in every st until the end of the row = 90 sc
Fasten off, leave a tail for fastening
If you want longer spirals, just add more chains and put 3 sc in each ch, like described above. I made mine starting with 31, 47, and 25 chains.
