Hi friends! Here is the free crochet ragdoll pattern for the sweet and baby-friendly Sverre the lamb!
It seems like crochet ragdolls are totally popular now a days, so I decided to make a pattern for a ragdoll, too! I tried to make this pattern as simple as possible and easy to follow, therefore I have included many pictures to explain the steps. This crochet ragdoll pattern is also quite quick to make, and you can probably stitch up a sheep in one evening.
These cute sheep are made with simple crochet stitches, like single crochet and the bobble stitch. You can use any kind of yarn, just make sure that the size of your crochet hook matches your yarn! These lamb are soft and squishy and the bobble stitch gives the yarn an interesting look and texture.
When I created the design for this crochet ragdoll pattern, I wanted to make something unique, but it also had to be simple, this is why I included easy stitches and many pictures to make sure that everybody can follow. These sheep would make an excellent companion for a baby or a toddler, and I also wanted to make them extra safe, therefore I decided to use yarn to make their eyes and mouth.
Before you scroll down to the free crochet ragdoll pattern, I would really appreciate if you follow me on Facebook! You also get noticed every time I publish a free crochet pattern!

Crochet ragdoll pattern for Sverre the lamb
Body, color mint green. Make two panels.
Crocheted with the bobble stitch.
Row 1) Chain 16.
Row 2) 1 sc in the second chain from the hook and in each stitch. (15 sc)
Row 3) Chain 3, turn, *1 bo in same stitch as chain 3, I sc in next, bo in next.* (15 st) This row ends with a bobble.
Row 4) Chain 1, turn, sc in every stitch. (15 sc)
Row 5) Repeat row 3
Row 6) Repeat row 4.
Now just keep repeating the row 3 and 4.Repeat until you have 5 bubbles in the height. Flip your work every now and then to check if the puffs are sitting neatly between each other.
When you reached the height that you want just chain 1, and make 1 single crochet all around the sheep. I got 15 on the top and 13 on the side, but it doesn’t matter what you get, as long as you have the same amount of stitches for the other side! Slip stitch in the first sc. Fasten off and make one more part.
Now, put the two parts aside and make the head.
Head, color nature. Make two parts
Row 1) Chain 6, turn and sc in the second stitch from the hook and in each stitch. (5 sc)
Row 2) Chain 1, turn, 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, 2 sc in last stitch. (7 sc)
Row 3) Chain 1, turn, 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in the next 5 stitches, 2 sc in the last stitch. (9 sc)
Row 4) Chain 1 turn, 2 sc in the first stitch, 1 sc in the next 7 stitches, 2 sc in the last stitch. (11 sc)
Row 5 – 8) Chain 1, turn, 1 sc in each stitch, repeat for 3 rows. (11 sc)
Cut the yarn and make the second part. The second part will be the front side of the face.
Don´t cut the yarn for the side that you want the face to be on. Just make a big chain after the last sc and leave it like that. Sew on eyes and mouth. Now grab the front of the head, the one with the face, chain one and crochet the front part of the face with the back part together, single crochet around the face. Before you crochet the face complete together, stuff it lightly with filling material. Make a slip stitch in the first stitch, cut the yarn and weave in ends.
I also included some pictures below to make this more clear.
Put the two parts on top of each other. Chain 1
Crochet the parts together with single crochet
Stuff the head here
and close the head with sc.
Flip the work, and attach new yarn, (same color as the body) insert the hook in the first sc at the back side on the top of the head. You need to work on the back side, so that the bobbles appears on the front side.
Attach mint green (or the same color as the body)
Row 1) Chain three and make * 1 Bo, 1 sc* This row ends with a bobble.
Row 2) Chain 1 and sc in every stitch.
Row 3) Turn work, (don´t make a turning chain) slip stitch in next stitch. Chain three and make a bobble in the same stitch, sc in next, bo in next, slip stitch in next two stitches. Cut of thread and weave in ends.
Ears. Make 2 parts. Color nature
This part is worked in continuous rounds. I advise you to place marker at the beginning of each round and move the marker up as each round is completed to keep track of where you are. Do not join until instructed.
Rnd 1) 4 sc in a magic ring. (4 sc)
Rnd 2) Increase in every stitch. (8 sc)
Rnd 3) *1 sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next*. (12 sc)
Rnd 4-6) Sc around, repeat 3 times. ( 12 sc)
Rnd 7) * 1 sc in first stitch, dec in next*. (8 sc)
End the round with a slip stitch in the first stitch. Cut of yarn and weave in ends Sew the ears on the head. Fasten the head on the body before you crochet the body complete together. Crochet the body together like you did with the head. Remember to add some filling material before you crochet the body complete together.
